About Us - This page is still under construction, more info to be added later. If the information you are looking for is not listed here, please call 479-968-4321. If you want to know more about all the programs we offer, you've come to the right place. Below you can find out what each program is all about. All ages are approximate, as we always look at the individual when deciding placement.
Mommy & Me(18 months - 3 years) - In this program, the parent attends class with the child, together working to develop both fine and gross motor skills. Students participate in activities that help them improve coordination such as balancing, jumping, making "music", and much more. Children begin to learn memory positions, like the famous "tooty tight" and "little person", which provide a solid foundation for learning more advanced skills in the future. All of this is rolled together with creative lesson plans incorporating music, our unique facility, and the bond between parent and child. Classes in this program are 45 minutes, once each week. Preschool Recrational Gymnastics(3 years - Kindergarten) - This program is for the child ready to attend class on their own. Keeping it safe and fun, students start learning basic skills such as front rolls and simple cartwheels (hand, hand, foot, foot). This program is the next step for those moving up from the Mommy & Me program or for beginners in the above age range. These students generally "warm up" in a larger group, then break into small groups to visit different stations. Classes in this program are 50 minutes, once each week. Recrational Gymnastics(1st Grade & Up) - If your child is new to gymnastics, or is not interested in competition, this program may be for you. These students work all four events (vault, bars, beam, floor), in a relaxed environment where the gymnast can advance their skills and improve coordination with low pressure and lots of fun! Classes in this program are 1 hour, once each week. Classical Ballet(Adult) - Currently only private lessons are offered for ballet. When interest and enrollment demands, classes will be formed. Lyrical & Jazz(10 years & up) - More info later Ballet & Tap(4 - 6 years) - In this program, the young dancer learns in the most funs ways to keep rhythm, do basic dance movements, as well as pantomime and acting. This is not an abstract program, but a unique, creative time for your child to fall in love with dance, and learn while not even knowing their learning! These classes are generally in conjunction with a gymnastic class. Call for more info. WE CURRENTLY ARE OFFERING A TAP-ONLY PROGRAM! CALL FOR MORE INFO!! Cheerleading - NEW! - Have a little girl who always wanted to be a cheerleader? This is the place to be! This new class is for beginning and experienced cheerleaders, boys and girls. Students will learn proper placement of motions, and everything will be built around this very important foundation of cheer. This class will learn cheers, dances, jumps, stunts, and tumbling. Following a proper progression for all skills ensures safety by making sure students have mastered one skill before moving on to the next, all while gaining self-confidence and having a blast! This class can prepare a student for a school squad or an All-Star program and will teach basic techniques that can carry on through to the college level. This program will also teach one of the most important skills in cheer. . . the ability to perform in front of crowds. This class will become an exhibition squad in the near future, performing at local events with our team programs (when all students are ready). What are YOU waiting for? Team Programs Team programs are by invitation only. All of the below teams perform at local events. Call or e-mail for more information about having us perform at your event. Show Team(4 - 6 years) - The Show Team is for the preschooler who needs a bit more challenging program. This class meets twice each week, for one hour of more advanced lessons. If your child is interested in competing sometime in the future, this program may be for you. Gym Stars(7 - 10 years) - The Gym Stars program is for those gymnasts who want more than a recreational class, but who don't wish to compete, or are not yet ready to compete. This class meets twice each week, for one hour. Jr. Pre-Team(5 - 7 years) and Pre-Team(8-10 years) - The Jr. Pre-Team program is to prepare younger gymnasts for the competitive team with shorter, yet challenging workouts. This team attends class for two hours, twice each week. On the Pre-Team, gymnasts work further to prepare for the competition team. If a gymnast is either still working on a few skills before competing, or has the skills, but is still preparing mentally or emotionally, this is the place for them. This team attends 3- hour workouts, twice each week. Gym Twisters Competitive Team(6 years & up) - This program is a rigorous, yet fun place for a gymnast to be. These gymnasts attend a minimum of 6 hours each week, with gym hours increasing as their competition level increases. Our gym trains gymnasts at levels 4-8, and has recently added a level 3 program. This is a wonderful new program that allows gymnasts a more relaxed environment to begin competitions, increasing their confidence and success later in their training. The RDGC Gym Twisters participate in USAG sanctioned meets around the state. Gymnasts must be committed to training for the entire season (through May) and participating in all meets before being admitted to the team. Invitations to Team Programs As stated above, these programs are by invitation only. However, if you are interested in your child joining one of the above teams, please let Miss Taylor or one of our coaches know of your interest. All of our team programs meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These days are reserved for these programs to maximize the benefit for both team and recreational students. The gym is less crowded, and all students are allotted the proper amount of time on each event. | | |
